Hannah's First Christmas
2004
We have so many things to be thankful for this year.  Of course it goes without saying that Hannah is the biggest and best gift that we could ever receive.  We will be forever indebted to her biological parents for allowing her to be adopted.  They have given us a gift that we will never take for granted.  The joy that she has brought to us in such a short time cannot even be described.  She has made our home and lives complete.

This Christmas season seems to be more hectic than others.  I guess trying to work full time and spend as much time with Hannah as we can doesn't leave much time for anything else.  It's so easy to get caught up in the "commercialism" of the season and let the real reason for the season slip by.  2000 years ago a baby was born to a virgin.  He came to save the world by giving up his life for ours.  God the father allowed His son to do this in order to give us eternal life.  "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever shall believeth in him shall not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:16  What a humbling thought.  As a new mother, I'm not sure that I could have made that supreme sacrifice.  How sad God the father must have been when he had to turn His back on His only son.  And here we are 2000 years later and we can't even slow down enough to acknowledge His birth.  Many of the stores have gone to replacing the word Christ in Christmas with an X, and our schools can't even have Christmas pageants that include songs about the birth of Christ.  I hope that everyone reading this will pause just a moment from your hectic life and think about the reason we celebrate this wonderful season.

In addition to our daughter, we are most thankful for our family and friends.  They have been a constant source of encouragement and love to us over the years.  It has also been a huge blessing to be involved with World Partners Adoption.  Jim, Cindy, and their staff are top notch and we can't thank them enough for their vision.  Traci (our coordinator) was the best, she became a dear friend.  Along the way we "met" several other wpa families through the loop and the reunions.  They have all impacted our life with their wit and wisdom.

We wish you all the best for the next year.  Hope you enjoy the pictures.  There are a lot, but I haven't posted in a while so I apologize in advance!
